My FANTASTIC day!! (that is using ENTHUSIASM-this weeks virtue!!)

Well today started with an AWESOME sleep-in because on Fridays the school staff have a meeting so the students have no Period One!!

Then the whole school gathered in the school gym for our fortnightly assembly!!

After the Sports, Drama, Academic and House Challenges updates the school headed to Period Two which for me was SCIENCE!! We completed some funky Sound Wave posters we have been working on!!

Then we spent interval in the sunshine-catching up with friends and news!!

For Period ThreeI had a reliever for Maori so we did sheet work-FUN FUN FUN!!

Then I was supposed to have ICT but one of the Year 9 deans asked me to be runner-a messenger for the office staff and teachers!!

Then it was time for lunch. I had the school camera so I could put some photos in this Blog so I found a few posers...

After lunch I finished the day with PE-and it wasn't theory!! AWESOME!!! We played Badminton as it is the Year 9 focus game this term!! and our PE teacher, Mr Reid, taught us some new rules and strategies!!

Blog of the 26th july

I've missed out a blog yesterday because I had one of those omg the sheet turns over moments and spent a lot of last minute work on it. Today was mufti day and like on all mufti days I spent most of my time pondering why we can't just always wear mufti, it would be so much easier but if you asked a teacher they would probably give you some complex answer on why we don't always wear it.

Also I found that I need to keep these posts positive so, aaahh um, so I saw the sun once today. Just kidding Awatapu is a great school some other schools just seemed too robotic for me but Awatapu, sure, some classes may be boring but most people just have to deal with it I've found most classes interesting and ones we didn't do quite as much work in is good to talk in as long as you pay attention to what is said or risk a confusing end of year test. I feel sorry for those people at some schools who have to wear speedos, if only I could see my friend who does, it just makes me laugh, and I think I just over used the amount of commas aloud in a sentence.

Konnichi wa
Watashi wa Patricia desu
Juu san sai desu

No, that is not gibberish! That was just part of a speech that I had to give in Japanese today. We all had to do one and you would probably take us for Japanese 'cause we sound so good!

That was only part of a really busy day at Awatapu as next was music and with that came my very first flute lesson. Being my first lesson my music didn't sound very musical but I have a great teacher and now I now how to hold it properly so it dosn't break! This is very important as I don't think I could pay for a new flute!

Another thing that happened today was extension maths. There was a test that was very long so we had to come in 15 minutes early from interval, not that we minded very much because it was windy and cold.

Even after school school related activities were still going on. I was apart of the 'new thing' at Awatapu called 'Sports Enhancement' and we had to meet at UCOL for the official opening. The 20 of us chosen will work with 20 UCOL students to, I guess, enhance our sport!. It was pretty cool as we got our photos taken and we got T-shirts!

Well, thats all for today! Sayoonara! (no, still not gibberish! )

24th July

Today started like every other day with a long walk to school, when I arrived, everyone was already in form time , the first mufty day of the term, I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing. As the bell rang everybody got ready for their first class of the day.

For first period was English and we watched some more of Robin Hood and wrote notes about what has been happening we had a new reliever today because the teacher was away.

For second period I had French. Today we learnt about the different mountains in France and its neighbouring countries, then we revised for the end of unit test.

During interval we walked around school and sat in the cafeteria talking, for third period I had ICT where we carried on practising to touch type and went onto some harder parts of our work books.

After ICT we had Social Studies where we carried on learning about Maori history and how the Manawatu was subdivided into large land lots, and how English and Scandanavian settlers travelled to NZ.

Next was Lunch where we did pretty much the same as interval but a little bit longer.
After lunch was maths where we did more work on algebra and did some interesting games

Today we had our weekly form assembly, it replaces our formtime and all the year 9's gather in the school gym to be informed of the latest groups, sport teams, or detentions.
After assembly we all leave for Period one, which for me was Maori. Each language, Maori, Japenese and French is taught from the basic words-no experience needed.
Period Two next-ICT for me. We have just begun ICT this term because we have switched to our 2nd half options. In ICT we are learning to type with speed and accuracy and how to use our Microsoft Publisher.
Interval.
Period three-Mathematics test-YAY!!-not too hard but not just easy!!
Science next we made funky (and educational) posters about sound waves!!
Last but not least we had Physical Education-Theory-not as fun as Badminton but still exciting stuff!!

Yet another cool day at AWATAPU!!

Hey guys my name is Dean and I am going to tell you about my week at Awatapu.Well first of all I had a long boring walk to school leaving at 8am and arriving almost late for school. After arriving at school we had form time, after the notices had been read we had time to talk about what happened during the weekend. For first period I had P.E where we learnt about Hauora which is the five elements we need to be healthy. For second period I had Science with MR Biddick , who is one my deans during this period we learnt about the different colours in light, and how we see things which sounds quite boring but actually quite interesting.
After Science it was finally interval which is when everybody relaxes and catches up with everyoneOnce interval we had English which was funny because we had a very amusing reliever who kept telling everyone off, then we watched a movie called Robin HoodNext I had the first of my options which was French, today we talked to an exchange student from Tahiti. We also learnt the translations for a variety of animals.Next was lunch where we get 45 minutes to relax and do whatever.
After lunch I had ICT which is one of my personal favorites and during this period we learn how to touch type and how to type fast without any mistakes

WOW!! Another day at AWATAPU!!

Do I hear a Lil' WHOOP WHOOP??

Okay so here is how it went...

The usual FormTime...update our Logbooks and catch up on unfinished work. Then we headed of to Period One-which for the Year 9's was an option class...so we were either in Music, I.C.T, Art, Home Economics, Drama, or Materials of some type.

Then off to Period Two for either Science, Social Studies, or PE!!

It was a nice sunny day so we were all hanging outside, soaking in the sun, for Interval!!

Period Three-english...but, no...we were in the ICT suite writing this!!

Ooooooooh now its all mixed up!! Since we have an open day today we switched lunch time and Period Four & Five!! So next, instead of Period Four, we had lunchtime-YAY!! Off to the canteen early!

Period Four we had mathematics and at the moment we are studying Algebra-very confusing!!

Period five-SCIENCE!!-we are learning about the human ear to help with our study of sound waves, today we looked at the structure of the human and ear and what each part does for the sound to reach our brain.

Another educational day at Awatapu!!

Georgia and Patricia reporting our day at AWATAPU!!

The day started with a hiss and a roar,
As the class filed through the FormClass door.
With Logbooks updated and notices read,
We head to Period One-YAY-Physed!!
We laugh and chat as we head to the gym,
It's Year 9 focus sport, Badminton!
English next, we learn Formal Writing Skills,
Drama follows with fun acting drills!
Others in I.C.T learning to type with speed,
Or in Home Economics "cooking a feed!!"
In Science class explanations are found,
Then we go to Music to learn about sound!

Well today has been an educational blast,
Today went so quickly-Year 9's going fast!!

Sam's Tomorrow (compared to yesterday) yes that is a weak attempt of humour.

Today’s Blog is being written in English with my attention changing between the monitor a video we are doing a study of. I don’t even know what’s going on. It’s Robin Hood (Schools these days sure like their “Classics”).

Tonight is the open night and I’m in social studies along with Dean (Some guy just got hit in the jewels in Robin Hood) My Science teacher and year 9 dean is trying to make me do science because of my high distinction in science. Speaking of that Science is last today and I’m not sure if I’ll have to change or not. Tonight I am still dreading the moment Darryl sees the picture of me on the sticker, he might even be smart enough to follow the web address on it, Darryl if you are reading this now I have a message for you GO AWAY (even though this blog I s designed for people like you to go to Awatapu but you aren’t).

Oh, and to tell what this blog is mainly about which is school, I missed Art for Open night stuff, went to social studies, then I missed most of English in which I am currently in writing this blog which I guess technically is English. That is all so far for the day.

Sam's Day July 24

Blog for School.

I just got picked from my school to do this blog (some new ploy to get more students I’d think) and it was kinda weird it came right after I was personally congratulated for getting a high distinction on a test that was too easy. When I arrived Dean was elsewhere and Georgia and Patricia had to go find him while I stood in the office corridor. The funny thing was when he turned up his friend was following him and seemed quite reluctant to separate from him, you just have to stop your friends from following you around like that, he should get obedience classes hehehe. When we got the photo taken everyone was watching us and I loathe the time when my friends of little brother see that picture. He’ll never let that go he still tries to tease me about things that happened like 5 years ago.

I don’t know if this is supposed to be strictly about the blog part of the day so I’ll wander elsewhere. I had three random meetings to day first two said before and I also went to a thing for the school open day, for a person who generally doesn’t care I have done a lot lately well a lot for me (I may be a high achiever but that doesn’t mean that I volunteer like a “model student(English for teachers phantasy”) lol I’m rambleing and I didn’t spell that right and this entry isn’t well structured oh well I feel like cake. )
